• text Suddenly a Girl in the Front Row

How does a back road prairie girl suddenly become a Girl in the Front Row?

Imagine a rose tossed in the air. There by chance it twists and turns on its slow descent to the front row seat of a once-in-a-lifetime performance. The event is your mother’s death.  You are both there before you should be — she on stage and you in the front row.  She is too young and so are you.  But destiny decides, the rose has landed and the performance will begin on time. At her final curtain call you and the rest of your life will change. Forever.

So this is it.  A pivotal experience likely tucked away.

I was the back road prairie girl tossed to the front row.  Years later I’m connecting with a group of fascinating Girls in the Front Row to create a collection of stories, thoughts and ideas about this experience and what happened next.  Tons of tears, talk, laughter.  Could this possibly be fun?  We’re gathering our secrets, lessons, tips (even quips) to share in a forthcoming publication.

    Please join the conversation.
